SPEC new engineering and management office in Sunder industrial Estate is now operational from July 15, 2008. SPEC new office has been built in accordance with international standard having capability to adjust more than 400 engineering and support staff. SPEC has been full filling design parameters like separation, air conditioning, automation block testing facility of whole skid instruments through underground cabling up to production facility on line testing and troubleshooting.

SPEC awarded a new project in Nigeria for design, fabrication and supply of Gas plant for platform petroleum limited Nigeria. Platform petroleum limited the operator of  platform/ new cross joint venture operations in the Asuokpv/ Umoto field in OML-38 located in Delta state of Nigeria has awarded SPEC the contract for the process design, mechanical design, procurement, manufacturing,  inspection, testing, certification and documentation, painting, galvanizing as required for 30 MMscfd refrigerated J-T Gas Plant.

Nigeria's proven oil reserves are estimated by the U.S. United States Energy Information Administration (EIA) at between 16 and 22 billion barrels (3.5×109 m³),but other sources claim there could be as much as 35.3 billion barrels (5.61×109 m³). Its reserves make Nigeria the tenth most petroleum-rich nation, and by the far the most affluent in Africa. Nigeria has 159 total oil fields and 1481 wells in operation according to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources In mid-2001 its crude oil production was averaging around 2.2 million barrels (350,000 m³) per day. Natural gas reserves are well over 100 trillion ft³ (2,800 km³), the gas reserves are three times as substantial as the crude oil reserves.
